Chaos has a new Education policy for institutions that will be going in to effect on January 20, 2022.  

New policy for Educational Institutions 

As of January 20, 2022, Chaos will be simplifying their offering for Educational Institutions. They will move forward only with the V-Ray® Education Collection (one- and three-year terms) for eligible educational institutions, and they’ll no longer offer single and additional products, as well as all two-year term products.

The V-Ray Education Collection offers quick-and-easy access to a wide selection of products, services, and assets for creative 3D professionals. It’s the ultimate toolset for learning and teaching 3D rendering and fluid simulation, allowing educational customers to focus on the artistic challenge — rather than worry about licenses.

Existing customers and all of their active seats of any single university product will be updated to the V-Ray Education Collection at no additional cost upon their first renewal. Additional seats can be purchased at the standard V-Ray Education Collection rates. 

By February 20, 2022, they will honor the single and additional product pricing for new quotations that have been registered with your Account Managers prior to the release of the new policy. All customers will receive a V-Ray Education Collection seat for every single product seat at the quoted rates. Unregistered deals will be processed at the standard V-Ray Education Collection rates.

With the release of the new policy, they will no longer offer 1,000 Cloud credits with purchases of 50 or more V-Ray Education Collection seats. Other than that, educational Chaos Cloud credits will be offered at the current rates and with no changes.

Customers interested in V-Ray for Nuke will be able to purchase it as part of the V-Ray Education Collection from the 20th of January, too. All active V-Ray Education Collection licenses will be updated with access to V-Ray for Nuke upon release.

New policy for educators 

As influencers and decision-makers, ambassadors and engines of change, educators have always been valued and trusted partners of Chaos. That’s why, in 2022, Chaos has decided to revamp their pricing policy and offer educator licenses for free on demand.

Starting January 20, 2022, educators' licenses will no longer be available for purchase. Instead, educators who are employed full- or part-time at a government-accredited educational institution can apply for a free V-Ray Education Collection license.

Current holders of Educator products will be informed about the new policy when their current subscription period expires.
