Chaos Anima 6 is launching on April 8, 2025, and with it comes a series of important licensing and compatibility changes. These updates align Anima with the broader Chaos ecosystem, making license management more unified and flexible.
Whether you’re a solo 3D artist or a large post-production studio, here’s everything you need to know to prepare for the new release.

Starting with version 6, all licenses will be managed through the My Chaos portal making it easier to oversee multiple Chaos products (like V-Ray, Phoenix, and now Anima) in one place.
The old invitation code system will be fully retired. Moving forward, you’ll use Chaos’s Organization Invite tool to assign users and manage access efficiently.
Chaos Anima will now run via the Chaos License Server, allowing secure floating license access across teams and devices.

An active internet connection is required to activate and run Chaos Anima 6—just like in Anima 5. This ensures your license stays synced and secure across machines.
As of April 8, Chaos Anima will no longer support Autodesk Maya. Existing users can continue to use Anima 5 or earlier versions, which retain compatibility with Maya pipelines.
If your pipeline still relies on Maya integration, consider staying on Anima 5 or transitioning to alternative tools supported in Anima 6.
