Bifrost 2.2.1.0 plug-in for Autodesk Maya includes new features to enhance your simulation workflows, such as the ability to resume a simulation from a cached frame on disk, to spawn new particles in a simulation, and to refine a low-resolution Aero simulation. This version of Bifrost continues to improve terminals by enabling selective evaluation, which allows you to wait till render time to perform your heavy computations.
In addition to support for the new versions of Arnold and MtoA, this release of Bifrost includes various other improvements.
Node icons and value display
A new set of node icons helps to explain visually what the nodes do. These include icons for geometry queries, arrays, transforms, and time.
New icons on nodes
We have also added value display to many nodes so that their parameters can be read directly on the nodes in the graph. These include nodes in the following categories: logical comparison, array, string, random value, math, property, field, sampling, input/output, and influence nodes.
Values on nodes
Aero stability
Many issues related to Esc termination with Aero and volumes have been fixed. See What's Fixed for complete list.
Stability and performance of loading compounds
Several crashes and issues related to loading compounds correctly have been fixed. This is a continuation of the work for unknown nodes.
Execution issues — such as in scenes with many Bifrost graphs and parallel evaluation — have also been addressed.
BifrostGeo To Maya UV handling
BifrostGeo To Maya now creates UV sets with names that conform better to Maya’s conventions.
