Streamline Your Workflow: Autodesk Introduces Direct Downloads for Desktop Products

POSTED 8th OF Jan, 2024

Say goodbye to download dilemmas! As of December 15th, 2023, installing your favorite Autodesk desktop software just got easier with the introduction of a brand-new option: Direct Download. Now, you have more control than ever over how you get your hands on the tools you need to create your masterpieces.

The traditional download with its array of executable files and updates can feel a bit like navigating a digital maze. With Direct Download, Autodesk removes the guesswork and puts you in the driver's seat. It offers a familiar experience, akin to installing from physical media or our previous browser download method, delivering a full local software installer in a single, convenient package.

This new option is particularly beneficial for two key reasons:

  • Enhanced Security: Direct Download aligns seamlessly with stricter internal security policies, offering peace of mind for organizations and professionals navigating IT protocols.
  • Offline Accessibility: No reliable internet connection? No problem! Direct Download empowers you to install your software even when Wi-Fi isn't readily available, ensuring your creative flow stays uninterrupted.

Choosing Direct Download is simple:

  1. Head to the Products & Services tab in your Autodesk account.
  2. Select your desired desktop product.
  3. Click "View Details".
  4. Expand the arrow next to "Install" and choose "Direct Download."

And that's it! You're on your way to enjoying a smoother, more streamlined installation process.

Remember: While Direct Download offers flexibility, keep in mind that it typically won't install the latest updates by default. To stay ahead of the curve, head to the Updates & Add-ons section in your Autodesk account after installation to snag the latest and greatest.

With Direct Download, Autodesk is committed to empowering every creator with the tools and workflows they need to bring their visions to life.
